September 23, 2025 – New York, NY – Recycle Track Systems (RTS) is proud to announce the release of a new case study showcasing its partnership with the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, one of the busiest venues in North America, in building a best-in-class sustainability program.

Every year, millions of visitors pass through the Javits Center’s 3.3 million square feet of space for more than 120 major events. With that scale comes complexity—thousands of tons of waste streams ranging from cardboard and plastics to e-waste and organics, often moving through the building within a single day. Together, RTS and Javits have transformed these challenges into opportunities for measurable progress.

From 2022 to 2024, Javits achieved:

  • 15% reduction in overall trash volume (the equivalent of nearly 236 garbage trucks).
  • 127% increase in total recycled materials, giving more items a second life.
  • 12% increase in food waste diversion, with scraps converted into energy through WM CORe and the Newtown Creek facility.
  • 8+ tons of soft plastics repurposed into durable decking and outdoor furniture, generating rebates that flow back to Javits.

RTS supported this transformation with predictive planning, specialized staff training, and adaptive logistics that keep events running seamlessly while advancing sustainability goals. Together, RTS and Javits designed new systems for e-waste management, vendor coordination, and circular economy initiatives that prove environmental responsibility can also deliver financial and operational benefits

“Operational success and sustainability don’t happen by accident—they’re built system-by-system, with innovation and collaboration working in sync,” said Ross Guberman, SVP of Sustainability at RTS.
