RTS service agreement with historic township continues company’s New Jersey and municipal expansion
July 30, 2020, New York, NY – Recycle Track Systems (RTS) today announced a new partnership with Pennsville Township, NJ, expanding the company’s municipal presence into southern New Jersey and continuing its commitment to safety, service, and sustainability.
As part of the collaboration, RTS will manage residential waste and recycling operations and support growing the community’s green footprint in helping to reduce waste and divert trash from landfill. To provide the services, RTS is partnering with local hauler, Green Guys Recycling Solutions, LLC, to bring Pennsville competitive rates and preserve valuable municipal resources.
The waste and recycling company has observed an increase of approximately 20 percent in residential solid waste tonnage across its municipal clients since the start of COVID-19 as communities continue to observe stay-at-home mandates.
“Community safety and public health have never been more important, and we feel privileged to help protect the communities we serve by continuing to provide an essential service during this time and taking every possible precaution to keep residents and workers safe,” said David Segall, Vice President of Policy and Municipalities at RTS.
Segall also notes if the current health crisis persists, residential tonnage will continue at higher volumes through 2020 and likely beyond, making it imperative to promote proper residential waste collection practices. “Pennsville has already demonstrated impressive commitments to responsible recycling and resident education, and we are eager to work with the town on progressing sustainability initiatives.”
With sustainability as a top priority for town officials – including Mayor Robert McDade, Deputy Mayor Marc Chastain, and Committee Members Richie G. Raine, Jeffrey B. Cook, and Daniel J. Neu – RTS will support educational and community engagements with residents and organizations, including school students. The Township and RTS also agreed to work together to mitigate and clean up trash around Pennsville’s historic riverfront.
Pennsville Township represents a strategic expansion into the broader Philadelphia and DC region for the RTS municipality vertical.
